  • 95 DIM-S: This is our no-compromise comp slalom mast and not only the thinnest and narrowest but also the stiffest flex/twist currently used on the worldcup scene.

  • 95 DIM-M: Same outline as DIM-XL. Slightly thicker and wider for a more comfortable ride than the DIM-S. Your budget-friendly alternative to the 95 DIM-S mast.

  • 100 DIM-L: More narrow outline than Dim-M and Dim-XL. Made for the ultimate Course Racing competition performance without compromise.

  • 100 DIM-XL: Same outline than DIM-M but 50mm longer at the head. Slightly thicker and wider than the DIM-L. Your budget alternative to the DIM-L.

MAST OUTLINE
Wide at the base with an extended front "nose" for added stiffness and less twist. With this design trick we're able to move the leading edge forward (to compensate for extensive mast rake that is actually moving the foil position backwards) which results in a more balanced and more effective fuselage position on the mast.
Narrow chord and thin profile at the fuselage too minimise drag and turbulences. Extra narrow chord for the DIM-S PWA slalom mast.

FACTS

  • Compatible parts for all sports of windfoiling, winging, prone-foiling, sup-foiling and kite-foiling.

  • The measurably stiffest parts in flex and twist on the market.

  • The smartest, strongest and tightest part assembly and connections on the market.

  • The most advanced and precise low-tolerance production process on the market.

CONSTRUCTION

To protect the advantage of having the stiffest and thinnest parts we won’t name any construction secrets used for our masts.

As the only brand in the history of windsurfing being able to successfully produce hollow boards in more than 20 sizes (AirInside) our know-how in composite construction technology is literally miles ahead of competitor brands. With our own production run of “Fullcore” boards (EPS Core) we’ve set the industry’s bench mark for weight and tolerance quality of EPS production boards. With our AEON foil constructions we are leading the industry again by offering the thinnest and most high-aspect designs with the stiffest flex vs twist ratio.

All foil parts are using TX30 m6 and m8 screw heads. The mast is using m6 screws to additionally secure the fuselage connection. The mast is designed with a Flat Head Deep Tuttle Box head with standard m6 inserts. A cutline is given to adapt the mast head to boards using the angled tuttle box system.

SANDING AND WARRANTY:
All AEON carbon parts have a "clear cote finish" to look optically appealing and perfect. This coating is sealing the carbon layers. Please note that sanding off this factory coating - partially or completely - will end the product warranty and any sanding will be fully at your own risk. Sanded AEON parts will change their look from glossy to matt finish. Always get some advise and guidance from experienced racers before sanding your foil parts. There is no general need to extensively sand the AEON carbon parts as we're using a very advanced production process. Only do so if you're 100% sure about what you're doing and why you're doing it.

BOARD/BOX MOUNTING:

We've brought down production tolerances of mast heads down to the absolute minimum. What we cannot change are the tolerances of tuttle boxes in any windsurf board of our and any other brand as these tuttle boxes origin from different suppliers and there even is a tolerance in the original tuttle box patent by Larry Tuttle, so not every tuttle box is 100% the same.
Please note that it is a standard procedure to fine tune the exact fit of your foil to your board:
1) Never sand the foil mast head! Rather sand the box carefully but normally this should not be needed.
2) Use professional shims to adjust the mast rake and make sure the mast is touching the shims and bottom of the box.
3) Press the mast into the box firmly and move from front to rear carefully to press and slide it in.
4) Place a metal shim or monofilm between the side wall of the masthead and the tuttle box wall if the foil is sitting too loose.
5) Use screws that go all the way into the threads of the inserts. Use washers as big as possible for good load distribution.
6) Don't use the screws to pull the foil into the box as the box roof could break!! Pull the mast back and forth to slide the foil into the box.
7) On some boards it might rarely be neccessary to widen the holes of different tuttle box types from front to rear with a file or drilling machine.
8) Use a digital level box to control your rake and retighten screws after a short first run. Re-check correct rake angle.
9) Never reuse bent screws. Never use cheap no-name screws. Change inserts as soon as they show any sign of wear.
10) Take enough time to follow these steps!! Never rush adjusting or first time mounting your foil!

CUTTING THE MAST HEAD FOR NON-FLATHEAD TUTTLE BOX SYSTEMS:
There are different Tuttle Box Systems on the market.
We have marked a cutline to adjust the AEON foil head to any boards using the "angled tuttle box system".
Use a sharp chop saw to cut the mast head above the indicated line. If in any doubt ask a professional craftsman.

CONCEPT

DESIGN GOALS
Our target was to create high-performance foils with full compatibility for all foiling sports and disciplines.
We wanted this foil system to be commercially available at different price levels from the “whatever-it-takes world cup level” to the demanding needs of more price sensitive customers.
The AEON has been designed for maximum control – easing the fight of mastering 3-dimensional flight for both the skilled world cup rider fighting in the pack and the indermediate rider. Having one connection system for wind-, wing-, prone- and kite-foiling is a massive economic advantage for multi sport users and allows every rider to find his perfect personal setup easily. At the same time the multi-sport option opens a much bigger market to resell AEON foil parts. The AEON will be vailable in our retail network as a complete high-performance foil system that can fulfil any waterman's wishes and needs. One system can do it all!

MAN VS. MACHINE
The massive success of the AEON-Foil in both Windsurfing AND Wing-Foiling is the result of our PATRIK R&D crew’s precise and hard work. Our products are being developed in a unique hybrid process where the human brain (knowledge) and hands (feeling) are clearly leading the computer aided design – not the other way around. Like this we’re able to design perfect products that no “A.I.” (artificial intelligence) could ever create.
Fun-Fact: CFD (computational fluid dynamic) programs are created by humans, fed with data based on past practical tests, but will never be able to calculate completely new results outside their given data range. The PATRIK-Crew is practically developing and testing gear outside that software range and our results will be used later to feed and update currently available CFD programs.

SINGLE PARTS VS. SETS
After our R&D Team had found peak performance in individual outlines and shapes they had individual wishes for flex and twist resulting in different “magic” combinations of AEON parts. Offering all parts separately gives the top riders the freedom to find their magic setup while the indermediate riders can choose the best combo for their budget.

Shaping with more than 25 years of technical expertise, Patrik Diethelm is far more than just another name in windsurfing. From his humble beginnings as a shop customer himself to a high-profile F2 brand employee and PWA professional, his move to founding the brand PATRIK together with Karin Jaggi in 2010 was simply a natural progression. Today we create windsurfing boards and sails, rig components, foils and fins and some of the most advanced wings and boards in the industry. In windsurfing we find our roots. Windsurfing is still driving us. Winging, surf foiling and any other windsports are what we came to love more and more over the years.
