DIRECT AND AGRESSIVE 4-BATTEN SAIL WITH INSTANT POWER DELIVERY
RIDER TYPE: The Aggressive Charger & Big Air Specialist.
Developed for active riders who like clear power in their hands and prefer to sail powered up on the limit. It suits sailors who look at challenging conditions as a clear opportunity to ride faster and fly higher. The sail handles anything from super-windy Pozo to crazy North Sea to big and epic down-the-line Hawaii.
Foil Feel Geometry: Slightly higher aspect ratio than the FLOW. The FLASH gives you a stable, foil-like feeling in the hands, granting good stability and a very direct rider-sail connection.
Rigid Framework: The front luff panel is constructed from X-Ply with a pre-shaped profile. This creates a stable power source that is always available and ready to accelerate.
Extended Power Release: To manage all this raw power, the leech profile is more open, helping to release excess energy efficiently. This allows you to push hard without losing control.
Built to last: Strong reinforcements and durable X-Ply window to survive heavy wipeouts.

1) Pick your preferred mast
PATRIK RDM 100% CARBON CC: Quicker response, lighter, max performance.
PATRIK RDM 80% CARBON CC: Forgiving in chop/high wind, extra durability, budget-friendly. (RDM 60 not recommended).
Lighter riders below 60kg should consider picking the next softer mast and using a long extension for improved twist and release.
(Full performance is not guaranteed on third-party masts. Consult a PATRIK dealer before using non-PATRIK rig components.)
2) Set Aerofit Boom Positioning (ABP)
Open 2 ABP sections for optimal performance, height adjustment and a clean fit with most boom heads. If in doubt, or for added power, leave three ABP slots open.
(Height marker "0" is a good starting point for an 180cm tall rider.)
3) Choose your preferred AWR setting
Modifies release characteristics without altering sail profile or trim. Adjust on-the-fly while rigged.
* In-depth AWR explanation below
4) Set your personal downhaul tension
Set downhaul to find your preferred style (use outhaul for power adjustments). Pull until loose leech wrinkles are between the "power" and "control" markers in the top of the sail.
• Less downhaul: More forward drive, more lift, more top leverage.
• More downhaul: Softer release in top turns and big landings, more control.
5) Adjust the outhaul to set the sail's power level and directness
• Minimum setting: Batten above boom just flips with one hand; tip sits well in front of mast; sail touches boom. Maximum power and pumping ability.
• Optimal setting (+2cm tension): Batten tip is halfway behind mast; touches boom only in strong gusts. Neutral backhand, direct rotation, wide power range.
• Maximum setting (+3cm tension): Flat profile, extended high-end control, direct feel. Planing and pumping are compromised.
Important: Outhaul tension scales up and down with downhaul tension. Judge settings by overall sail shape, not spec box numbers alone.
The upper AWR Shackle acts as both high clew ring and leech adjustment system (thread rope through shackle).
The Lower Ring improves comfort at lower boom heights. It ncreases twist while retaining full AWR options (In / Out).
Bolt maintenance: Uses a standard Allen Key "3". Fully tighten before riding. Loosen regularly to apply marine grease.
DANGER: Never ride with a loose bolt or without it installed (shackle will break).
The 4 Clew Height & AWR Combinations:
1) HIGH & IN = Power + Drive | Ideal for general power wave use.
2) HIGH & OUT: = Power + Agility | Our favourite setup with max release.
3) LOW & IN = Control + Drive | Starting point for small riders.
4) LOW & OUT = Control + Agility | For smaller riders and pure down-the-line.
