The X-Cross XPLY most probably is the most versatile sail on the market. From freeride blasting in flatwater to busting airs in the waves of Australia, this sail can do it all. A 5-batten concept based on our successful 5Wave wave sail incorporates the newest ideas and tweaks of Patrik Diethelm and Fabio Canelle to become everybodies darling. The small sizes are more manouver-orientated while the bigger sizes are designed to be perfect flatwater and bump-and-jump joy machines.

CONSTRUCTION

 This sail is designed to perform in almost any conditions. Construction-wise, the X-Cross is a clever hybrid of our Wave and Freeride lines. The lower section of the sail is constructed from the same 4 mil X/scrim-ply material found on our Wave sails, as this is the most critical area for impact resistance.

The main window features a robust 4 mil X-Ply, providing the optimal balance of visibility, impact resistance, and weight—it is even lighter than the previous 5 mil monofilm. For the upper section, we chose a 4 mil blue-tinted monofilm, which reduces weight and adds UV resistance in areas where through-vision is less critical.

The luff panel is made of soft Dacron (consistent with our Wave range), which provides extra "power on demand." As an added bonus, we integrated white 5 mil X-Ply and blue 2.5 mil X/scrim-ply along the leech and top panels. This adds essential wear resistance to areas frequently stressed during rigging and rolling.
